MIXING AND APPLICATION

Preparation

Delaminated, weak, damaged and deteriorated concrete shall be removed.

Rust, scale, mortar, concrete, dust and others loose material on surface of steel reinforcement bars shall be removed accordingly.

All mortar and concrete surfaces should be brought to a saturated surface dry condition by presoaking with clean water. 

Mixing

Mix the mixture using an electric mixer at a medium speed 400 – 500(rpm) to get properly freshly grout. Place estimated water (use potable water only) into the mixer, then slowly add the powder of mortar. Mixing time minimum 3 minutes.

For a troweled consistency, start with 3.5 – 3.75 kg of water per 25 kg bag. The water demand will depend on mixing efficiency, material, and ambient-temperature conditions.

Placing

Place the mixed mortar into the prepared repaire area as soon as to maintain flow properties, time of application no more than 30 mins to benefit from the shrinkage compensating properties.

Curing

It is necessary to protect the fresh mortar immediately from early drying for a minimum 3 days using an appropriate method (e.g. curing compound, moist curing membrane, polyethylene sheet,…) Use of the  wet hessian or continuous water spray is recommended.

Cleaning

All tools and equipment should be rinse with water immediately after use, clean and remove all traces of grout.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

During use, avoid inhalation of dust and contact with the skin and eyes. Wear suitable clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protective equipment.

  28 days:  ≥ 6.5 Mpa

• Tensile Adhesion Strength:

28 days:  ≥ 1.5 Mpa

• Consumption: 1 bag 25kg yields approx 13.5 litres of mortar, needing approximately 74 bags for 1 m³ of mortar
• Mortar thickness:

Minimum: 5 mm

Maximum: 30 mm.
