ELKEM MICROSILICA 920D
ELKEM MICROSILICA 920D is a new generation powdered concrete admixture. This product contains ultra-fine microsilica that fills the voids between cement particles, creating a dense concrete surface with high water resistance.
Advantages
ELKEM MICROSILICA 920D contains extremely fine active silica dioxide (particle size < 0.1μm). This active component reacts with free lime (calcium hydroxide present in cement mortar) to form calcium silicate hydrate, significantly improving internal bonding strength and the waterproofing ability of the concrete. The concrete achieves very high cohesion and significantly improved pumpability.
When used together with superplasticizer admixtures, the concrete exhibits the following properties:
Increased strength and load-bearing capacity of the structure
High and early strength achievement, saving construction time
Enhanced final strength
Improved resistance to abrasion and sulfate attack
Significantly increased water impermeability
Significantly improved resistance to gas penetration
Reduced chloride diffusion
Practical Uses
Used in ready-mixed concrete at batching plants and precast concrete elements
Used in hydraulic works, basements, and areas subject to corrosion
Used in other fields requiring high-quality fresh and hardened concrete
Specification Type
ELKEM MICROSILICA 920D complies with ASTM C1240 standard.

Suggested Uses
Dosage rate: Typical dosage ranges from 5-10% by weight of cement (depending on the requirements of the concrete element). To achieve optimal concrete performance, always use in combination with superplasticizer additives.
Cement: Suitable for all types of Portland cement.
Quantitative: Add coarse aggregates to the mixer first at the batching plant, then add fine aggregates and cement into the rotating mixer drum, followed by the measured amount of water. Optimal mixing time is 90 seconds.
Note: Concrete containing ELKEM MICROSILICA 920D should be handled and placed similarly to regular concrete batches. Comply with standards for concrete placement and curing should begin immediately after casting.
Safety Information
Ecology: Do not discharge into water sources.
Destroyl: Follow current regulations.
Explosion: Non-flammable and non-explosive.
Protection measures: Avoid contact with food and household items. Avoid prolonged skin contact. In case of contamination, wash thoroughly with water. If it comes into contact with eyes or mouth, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention promptly.
