Elkem Microsilica® 920D
Elkem Microsilica® 920D is a concrete admixture of the new generation in powder form. This product contains ultra-fine micro-silica that allows filling holes between cement particles, creating a solid and highly waterproof concrete surface.

Elkem Microsilica® 920D complies with ASTM C1240.
Advantages
Elkem Microsilica® 920D contains extremely fine (particle size < 0.1μm) latently reactive silicon dioxide. The presence of this substance will exert free calcium (calcium hydroxide in cement mortar) to create calcium hydrated silicate which will significantly improve internal cohesion and water retentivity. Concrete will have a very high bonding capacity and significantly improved pumpability.
When used together superplasticizer, the concrete will show the following properties:
- Increased durability and force-resistance
- Achieve high strength and early, save construction time
- Increased ultimate strengths
- Increased resistance to abrasion and sulfate resistance
- Greatly increased impermeability
- Greatly increased resistance to gas permeability
- Highly reduced chloride diffusion.
Practical Uses
- Used in Ready mix concrecte and precast concrete
- Used irrigation tructures, basements, areas subject to corrosion
- Other fields that require high quality concrete and hardened concrete
Suggested Uses
- Dosage rate: Dosage ranges from 5-10% by weight of cement (depending on concrete requirements). For concrete to be highly effective, it is always used in combination with superplasticizer
- Cement: Suitable all Portland cement categories
- Quantitative: ELKEM 920D and coarse Aggregates to the pre-mixing station, continue add fine aggregates and cement to the mixing tank and then measured water into. Optimum mixing time: 90 seconds

- Protection measures: Avoid contact with food and household appliances. Avoid long contact with skin. In case it came in contact, use water to wash with care. If it came in contact with eyes and mouth need to wash with clean water and immediately see doctor.
