MIXING AND APPLICATION

Preparation

Concrete surfaces must be clean, durable, level, and free of oil or grease. Remove loose or poorly adhering materials by sand blasting or high pressure water jetting. All mortar and concrete surfaces should be brought (SSD - Saturated-Surface-Dry) to a saturated surface dry condition by presoaking with clean water. Remove all excess water just before placing adhesive.

Mixing

Measure 5-6 liters of clean water for 25kg of MVN OPTIFIX, slowly add the adhesive powder to water and stir well for about 5 minutes the composition to a homogeneous mixture, allow the mixture to rest for 3-5 minutes before proceeding with tiling.

For a large batch use the approved mechanical mixer for a small batch can use the heavy duty slow speed driller with paddle. 

Placing

MVN OPTIFIX should be applied by layers with suitable thickness.

Use a notched trowel for application onto the substrate and buttering onto the back-face of the tile to enhance the performance and proper coverage of the adhesive. The tiles should be firmly pressed onto the substrate and immediately tamped into position and quickly adjust the tiles to get them in the desired position (within 20-30 minutes). The wet adhesive mixture should be used within 60 minutes, depending on environment temperature.

Prepare appropriate quantity of adhesive each batch. Does not using the adhevise still not fresh after long period time spread onto surface of substrates. If skinning occurs, scrape off skin and replace with new adhesive.

Cleaning

All tools and equipment should be rinse with water immediately after use, clean and remove all traces of grout.

• During use, avoid inhalation of dust and contact with the skin and eyes. Wear suitable clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protective equipment.

• Tensile adhesion strength: ≥ 0.5 N/mm2
• Average consumption: 1-1.2 kg/m2/1mm

Note: The consumption rate is for reference only and may vary depending on the substrate surface, Size of tiles, installation method and tools, etc...

• Recommended mortar thickness: 2-10mm
• Adjustability Time: Approx 20 minutes.
• Waiting time before grouting (depending on environmental conditions):

For floor: Approx 24 hours

For wall: Approx 7 to 8 hours.
